Moreland FC-6 FC Melbourne-1
O.Kose 2, S.Sefil 2, T.Waterson 1, J.Franjic 1
After a disappointing week last week the boys in blue have spent a lot of time organising and building structure in the squad and it showed last week against Brunswick. This week was no different. Managers Deren Saban & Hakie Ertan have spent a lot of time on the drawing board and have hit the jackpot.
The blues completely controlled the whole 40 mins dictating play. A tight but patient game frustrated the opposition and the blues raced to a 3-1 lead at the break with a brace from O.Kose and a single from young gun S.Sefil. Second half saw a very commanding display with the blues in no rush with a quality passing display. Sefil grabbed he's 2nd while Franjic got on the board with a Korkmaz assist. new recruit T.Waterson in only he's 3rd game showed what is to come from him as he is adapting more and more every week with a goal and unlucky not to have a couple! In the engine room S.Akyol retuned after 3 weeks away unlucky not to score with 3 bullet shots saved respectively by the melbourne keeper or the bar, Kul was at he's usual self terrorising the defence with a couple classy assists Vice Captain B.Sahin backing up last weeks performance with another commanding display, J.Franjic showing why he's one of the best all rounders in the league. Keeper K.Koc dominated and only conceding 1 goal also grabbing a assist showed he's worth and Korkmaz 'The General' in another dominating performance from the back earning him the best on ground calling the shots and also grabbing a assist. He is not only the captain but one of the best defenders in the centre.
8 weeks left and the top 3 is wide open. We are now at the business end of the season! A inconsistent beginning but the blues have finally got their structure and can prove to be a title contender.
